The Engineering Design Process:
Safety:
In term 1 Mr. Ramos taught us how to use all of the equipment correctly and all of the tools. This term consisted of many demonstrations and little projects to get us started. He introduced the design process and the safety rules. We then took a test to declare that we are ready to use the lab to construct projects.
The Super Bridge Project:
This project we worked in teams to create one super bridge to hold all of the members of our team. It was a class competitions in which all groups compete on who's bridge is the best. My group consisted of 34 member's including me and took weeks to construct. Once done, the bridge was to be tested with a lock and board and a balance beam. The bridge extended from one bench to another to see if it can hold our weight. We were successful and took second place in the class.
As you can see in the picture above after achieving our goal, we then put other class mates on the bridge to see if it could hold. We put an additional 2 members on the bridge to hold 1050lbs before the bridge snapped and failed.
The Music Project:
This project I teamed up with one other member and started to design a guitar. I have been a guitar player all my life and i took the opportunity to create and build a real guitar that is playable.
This is a fender telecaster in which I planned to replicate. As you will see in the next few images, my guitar is changed in a few ways bit keeps the same basic concept as a telecaster.
This project had no set deadline so I focused on making a quality instrument that would actually play like a real guitar.
I brought in from home guitar parts such as a bridge and tuning hardware to make my guitar play.
The guitars frets and neck as well as body was constructed in the lab.

This is the finished product of the guitar. The guitar plays and makes sound but however has alot of dead notes on the neck, or notes that cannot be played. Surprisingly it wasn't that difficult to tune the guitar after pulling hardware off another guitar.
Wind/Power Project Windmill:
On this project we were assembled into groups to create a tower and motor setup to see who catches the most wind. The motors were to be connected with wires to a volt meter to see what charge the windmill was putting out through the motors. Our team did not get to test, however i feel that it would of done very good.
Final Exam:
The final project was to create a picnic table model. I was not able to complete this project but here is the picture of the progress that i got to on the project.
